Access Platforms for Maintenance

MIDFIX designed and manufactured these bespoke maintenance access platforms for installation at a commercial site in Manchester.

The platforms were going to be positioned next to air handling units (AHUs). To enable future servicing and maintenance of the AHUs, sections of the access flooring had to be removable. The material we deployed is a heavy-duty 38mm GRP grating. GRP decking also benefits from anti-slip properties allowing safe access for maintenance personnel.

Another challenge was the transportation of the pre-assembled platforms to site. The overall height was over 3.2m. We separated the handrail from the platform and despatched them on separate pallets. On site, the installers simply had to re-connect the handrail system to the main platform.

This job was promptly turned around in our workshop in a few days from drawing approvals to site delivery. Whatever your application or environment, we can provide a safe access solution.
